I am a graduate of the Nutrition Consulting Program at Hawthorn University. I am also a Certified Gluten Practitioner and Certified BioIndividual Nutrition Practitioner. I have had additional training in nutrition for cancer support at Hawthorn, on traditional diets from the Weston A. Price Foundation and courses from the Institute for Functional Medicine. I became interested in nutrition after using it to heal myself from a number of health problems that began in 2007. I discovered that I was on the celiac spectrum and thus was not able to eat foods with gluten (wheat, rye, barley). Soon after I learned I was allergic or sensitive to other foods as well. I discovered the power of whole foods to help with most chronic health conditions and started to cook from scratch, modify recipes, negotiate restaurant menus and eat a healthy, personalized diet.
